Preparing for Your Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Procedure:
- Drink plenty of water 2 days before the procedure.
- Avoid drinking alcohol 24 hours before the procedure.
- Do not take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, e.g. Ibuprom, Polopiryna, Ketonal, Aspirin 3 days before the procedure.
- Do not take anticoagulation medication for 5 days before the procedure.
- Do not drink coffee or energy drinks immediately before the procedure.
- In the case of PRP treatment on the scalp, do not dye your hair 7 days before the procedure.
PRP procedure step by step:
We will apply numbing cream to your face. A small amount of blood will be collected using a butterfly needle and syringe, usually from your arm. The blood will then be centrifuged to separate PRP. Then we will inject PRP into your face using a small needle. You may feel light to mild pain once the numbing cream wears off. After a PRP procedure you may experience mild discomfort and bruising for a couple of days, up to a week. You should be able to get back to your daily activities after the procedure.
